Women in Technology (WIT), an organization contributing to the success of professional women in the Washington technology community, announced the upcoming Seventh Annual Women in Technology Leadership Awards. The awards ceremony will be held May 18, 2006, at the Hilton McLean in McLean, Va., USA. Nominations are now open and will be accepted until March 31, 2006, for both WIT and non-WIT members.
Consistent with the values of WIT, the theme for this year's awards is, "Connect. Lead. Succeed," and will recognize women who embody these ideals. Women in all technology fields who have excelled as role models, mentors or leaders are encouraged to apply. "As with our past Women in Technology Leadership Awards, we look forward to acknowledging the talented and accomplished technology professionals in and around Washington," said Gayle Sweeney, president of WIT, in a press statement. "I encourage you to nominate successful women you know whose vision and leadership has delivered significant impact, within their company or the technology community at large."
There are five awards categories in which WIT is soliciting nominations: Corporate Leadership, Entrepreneur Leadership, Government Leadership, Women in Technology Champion and Rising Star. For more information on the awards, including submissions and sponsorship, visit: www.womenintechnology.org.
