TRI/ Princeton has announced the schedule for its three-day course for professionals in the hair fiber and cosmetics industry. Human Hair/Cosmetic Interactions: Fundamentals and Methodology will take place Apr. 24-26, 2007 in Princeton, N.J., USA. The moderator will be Peter Kaplan, PhD, with guest lecturers such as Janus Jachowitz, PhD, Yash Kamath, PhD, Clarence Robbins, PhD, and Sigrid Reutsch.
There will be three themes at the course including: hair structure, with such topics as combing force analysis and cuticular cohesion and scale lifting; products and their interaction with hair, with topics such as overview of formulations and actives and effects of cosmetic treatments on fiber surface properties; and hair appearance, with topics such as luster and single fibers and hair body/radial compression.
Much of the material will be highlighted through demonstrations of TRI's instruments including Scanning Electron Microscopy, Torsion Pendulum, and Dynamic Vapon Sorption, among others.
