Now trending are: Kylie Cosmetics, IT Cosmetics, azelaic acid serum, aesthetic makeup, red wig, forehead reduction and eight 2024 makeup predictions from Allure, ranging from multifunctional products and doll blush to a "pop" of color and more.

Kylie Cosmetics
Per Google Trends, searches on "Kylie Cosmetics" are up significantly, which could be due to her Dec. 5 appearance sporting a "bowl" haircut to promote the new Precision Pout lip liner. The product is said to sculpt, define and contour the lips with lasting effects. Described as "ultra precise," the wooden pencil is based on wax that "grips" the lips without smudging or feathering.
IT Cosmetics
Searches on "IT Cosmetics" are up 170%, according to Google Trends. This might relate to Ulta's recent "Love Your Skin" promotional event highlighting IT Cosmetics and other brands. A recent article by Look Fantastic also featured IT Cosmetics' Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50. This product is designed to hydrate skin, thanks to its HA content, while brightening and improving skin tone. Additional benefit ingredients include collagen, peptides, niacinamide (B3) and vitamin E.
Exploding Topic: Azelaic Acid Serum
This week's Exploding Topic, per the source, is azelaic acid serum, based on an ingredient known to address acne and rosacea and to provide antimicrobial properties. TikTok videos about azelaic acid have reportedly surpassed 26 million views, with brands such as Cos De Baha leading the charge; searches on this brand are up 5,300% over the past five years.

Spate: #Aestheticmakeup, #Redwig and #ForeheadReduction
According to Spate's hashtag tracker, topics trending on TikTok this week include #aestheticmakeup, up more than 10 billion percent, which appears to relate simply to creative makeup looks. Also, #redwig is up 4+ billion percent and is exactly that: red wigs. Finally, related to the surgery, #foreheadreduction increased 3.5 billion percent, week over week. This is a procedure performed to shorten the length of the forehead (aka "hairline lowering") to improve facial proportions.
Allure: 8 Makeup Looks in 2024
Lastly, Allure magazine highlighted several makeup looks that should "be on your radar" in 2024. These include the following.
- Multifunctional, easy-to-use products (i.e., "moving away from looks that require 'a lot of moving parts'" in favor of those that are easy to use);
- Doll-like blush (i.e., returning to the apples of the cheeks);
- Graphic eyeliner in bold shapes, or reverse liner;
- Colorful, bright-swiped lashes;
- Ombre lips (a modern version of dark-lined lips);
- "Better than bare" skin tints, rather than heavy foundations;
- Monochromatic looks (i.e., pumpkin spice, strawberry girl, latte makeup...) with subtle shifts between lips and the face; and
- "Pop" of color (minimalist makeup with a dash of colored eyeliner or lipstick).
