Recently launched doctor-distributed skincare line Avene touts the benefits of thermal spring water in its collection of creams, gels and cleansing products. Claiming that the natural mineralization of thermal spring water has pharmacological effects, Eau Thermale Avene deems its collection a “dermatological hydrotherapy treatment.”
The spring water used in the formula—particularly from Sainte Odile—has trace elements of boron, zinc, cadmium, chromium and copper, among others. Avene claims that with regard to efficacy, its spring water formula has a soothing, anti-inflammatory, anti-irritant effect and is formulated to combat atopic dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis and burn-related problems.
The hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic collection also features vitamin E for antioxidant protection; hyaluronic acids to moisturize; a lipidic complex to help nourish skin; and micronized sucralfate to aid in the healing of skin. An extensive product list attempts to aid with all manner of skin sensitivity, and all products feature the thermal spring water the company prescribes to.
