Symrise GmbH & Co. KG is partnering with biotechnology companies to enter the cosmeceutical actives market. A partnership with BRAIN AG and AnalytiCon Discovery GmbH will reportedly allow the company to develop new active cosmetic ingredients.

The co-operation with the two leading biotech companies BRAIN AG and AnalytiCon Discovery GmbH perfectly supplements and strengthens our own research and development strategies”, said Achim Daub, member of the managing board of Symrise in a company press release.
AnalytiCon Discovery generates and utilizes diverse natural product compound libraries featuring fully elucidated structures. In addition to its libraries, the company brings into the partnership its natural product specific expertise for structural optimization. BRAIN AG is a biotechnology company that develops bioactive natural compounds as well as proprietary enzymes for the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic industries.
The partnership reportedly will allow for the creation of natural product based active agents for the cosmetic industry. Further, it will allow the three companies to create actives for higher value and prestige cosmetics.
