Symrise has partnered with Cambridge Theranostics in an effort to move into the health and well-being market. As a reflection of its new beauty strategy, the company is renaming its cosmetics business unit "Life Essentials" in order to reflect the new focus on the link between health, well-being and beauty.
The partnership with Cambridge Theranostics will focus on natural products that may have cardiovascular benefits but beauty foods will also be researched. Symrise reportedly intends to grow its active ingredients in the health care market. Symrise's interest in combining health and well-being began in 2006, when the company acquired Kaden Biochemicals.
According to Symrise, there is a strong relation between beauty and health and more so today as the consumer witnesses emerging product sectors that blend the two.
