Klaus Töpfer, PhD, will be the key note speaker for the Association of Soap, Fragrance and Detergent expert's (SEPAWA) 54th Congress. The event will take place on Oct. 10 -12, 2007, in Würzburg and will include 46 lectures and 130 exhibitions in research, development, application, services and marketing.
Töpfer will discuss future energy supply at the event in his presentation about climate protection. He reportedly calls climate protection a “fascinating challenge.” In his key-note lecture, the former environment minister and director of the UN-environment program will talk about the opportunities that he sees in connection with climate protection. In his presentation entitled “Future Energy Supply – Economic Necessity and Ecological Stability” he advocates further development of renewable energy on the one hand, and on the other hand a fundamental increase in energy efficiency.
More than 1400 participants are expected to come to Würzburg, according to the company, of which 30% are from European countries outside of Germany and from overseas.
SEPAWA sections and expert groups have also been established in Benelux, Austria, Switzerland, Scandinavia, and the Ukraine. The continuous development of the SEPAWA as an autonomous and independent professional association is the result of modern association leadership.
In order to promote its junior scientists, SEPAWA is awarding excellent junior scientists for the first time this year. In addition, it will offer a job exchange for specialists, students and graduates. By founding the SEPAWA academy, the goal of the association has been to further enhance the qualifications of its members.
