Colorlab Cosmetics has introduced Active Powders that target specific skin conditions. The powders are reportedly based on natural ingredients such as Pisum sativum (pea) and algae extracts to improve skin firmness and have been designed to be used with the company's private label custom blend mineral line. Five blends of powders are offered, including: Firming Complex, Moisturizing Complex, Eye Brightening Complex, Lightening Complex and Balancing Complex.
The firming powder is an antiaging active that reportedly restores firmness and protects that skin. According to the company, the powder also smooths the skin and increases cell regeneration in the epidermis.
Hydrating is the goal of the moisturizing complex. The active ingredient in the powder is Cassia angustifolia (senna) seed polysaccharide, which the company reports to retain moisture in the skin. The product is claimed to improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and moisturize.
The eye brightening active powder combines four plant extracts: algae, Ruscus aculeatus (butcher's broom) root, Centella asiatica (gotu kola) and Calendula officinalis flower. The product reportedly reduces dark circles, eye puffiness and improves capillary circulation.
The lightening complex is reported by the company to offer long term lightening effects on areas of hyperpigmentation without affecting surrounding skin. The powder combines algae extract, Waltheria indica (sleepy morning) leaf extract and ferulic acid to inhibit melanin production and lighten the skin.
Decreasing oil production and managing shine is the intention of the balancing complex. The product is formulated with niacinamide, yeast extract, Aesculus hippocastanum (horse chestnut) seed extract, algae extract, caffeine, panthenol and biotin.
The active powders are available for formulation into mineral cosmetics. For more information, visit Colorlab's website.
