Andreas Schmid, vice chairman of the board of directors at Barry Callebaut, has been court-appointed as the chairman of the supervisory board of Symrise (Holzminden, Germany). Schmid serves as successor to Göran Lundberg, who was part of the network of consultants of the EQT financial investor who sold its remaining shares in May.
Björn Hoi Jensen also left the board and is succeeded by Sanna Suvanto-Harsaae from cleansing-product manufacturer Reckitt Benckiser. Klaus Kühn, CFO of Bayer, joined the supervisory board in July 2007. With these new members, Symrise is placing people on the board who represent the industries of its clients.
Of the appointments, Symrise CEO Gerold Linzbach said, “These three new positions mean that our supervisory board consists of people with an exceptionally great amount of expertise in the industry. Andreas Schmid and Sanna Suvanto-Harsaae are professionals who know and understand both our own business as well as that of our clients in the perfume, cosmetics and food industries. Klaus Kühn will lead the audit committee and advises the company on all financial matters.”
