Micro Powders Inc. (MPI) is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. The company was founded in 1971 by James Strauss, the current chairman of the board, but the MPI of today is a different animal than the original MPI. In addition to changing the location of its headquarters, the company has also changed its customer base. The company's original focus was micronized wax for the printing ink industry, but today the company's focus has expanded to micronized wax products for the paint, ink, coatings and personal care industries.
"We keep in very close contact with our customers both in research and marketing. This allows us to anticipate their needs. Our new products can be pulled to market, based on what our customers tell us," said company president Warren Pushaw.
