Kemira Specialty has announced its plan to acquire TRI-K Industries Inc. The transaction will include Maybrook Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of TRI-K.
According to Kemira execs, the transaction will allow the company to expand its cosmetics business. "Kemira Specialty is one of the leading suppliers of titanium dioxide products for the cosmetics industry and through TRI-K we can expand out offering especially in skin care and hair care," said Pekka Ojanpää, president of Kemira Specialty.
Kemira also reportedly will use the transaction to strengthen its distribution network in North America. The financial terms of the transaction have not yet been disclosed.
