Interpolymer has expanded east with the construction of a new research and customer service laboratory in Shanghai, which is expected to be ready for operation this month. Located in the XuHui Functional Materials Research Park, the facility will be completely staffed within the next few months.
"With these expanded capabilities, we will now be able to provide more extensive support to our customers in Asia in the use of our aqueous polymer dispersions and also be more responsive to local needs," stated Wim van Drunen, technical director responsible for the customer support in Europe and Asia, in a press release. "We will also augment our laboratory teams in Europe and [the United States], who have, until now, had total responsibility for the development and testing of our products."
According to van Drunen, these new laboratories will place the company in a better position to advise its local customers on the use of the company's dispersions for everything from floor, carpet and shoe care, to specialty adhesives and personal care.
"This new site strengthens our position as a worldwide leader for the marketing of specialty acrylate polymers," added Norwin W. Wolff, founder and president of the group, in a press announcement.
