The award recognizes Geno's progress in bringing said sustainable materials to brands like Unilever and Kao, following its launch of a $120 million venture with both. The initiative will use Geno's technology to develop plant-based palm oil alternatives that will both halve carbon emissions and diversify supply chains.
The ICIS Innovation Awards recognize and reward companies that continue to pave the way in terms of product, process and innovations that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability. Previously, Geno won the award for Process with the Best Benefit to the Environment and Sustainability, winning Best Sustainable Process in 2020.
"Geno’s mission is to accelerate this transition with breakthrough technology that can scale to meet soaring consumer demand for responsibly sourced products and play a meaningful role in combating climate change,” said Geno CEO Christophe Schilling.
"This award for our nylon solutions is a testament to our vast technical talent that has set a new bar for delivering breakthrough innovations that are remaking the products we use every day—from cosmetics to carpets."
