The health benefits from food have been translated into skin care for the launch of Befine, a daily skin care line that debuted in January and reached national stores in April. The line, according to the company, is designed to cleanse, moisturize and tone all skin care types.
The line was partly created by Florence Sender, who holds nearly 30 years of experience in the food industry. Sender founded Food Logic in 1999, a natural and organic food company.
Creators of the line maintain that it is both paraben and allergen-free. Also, each product features a "hero food ingredient" that is said to provide a special benefit to skin. The Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 features Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, Punica granatum extract, and Oryza sativa (rice) extract in addition to sunscreens and other ingredients. The line's 14 main ingredients are coconut, pomegranate, cocoa, rice, wheat, oat, and others.
In 2008, Sender reportedly will expand the line into body care. In addition, the line will debut on Japanese shelves this summer.
