Eye make-up is on the rise in Japan, according to the recently released Fuji Keizai report on the cosmetics market in Japan. The report, available only in Japanese, calculates the make-up products market for 2005 at 497.2 billion yen(US$4.5 billion) and expects it to reach 509.6 billion yen (US$4.6 billion) in 2006.
Within the make-up market eye make-up products, specifically marcara and eyeshadow, are reportedly expected to grow from 86.9 billion yen(US$ 792.8 million) in 2005 to 88.9 billion yen(US$801 million) in 2006. Body-care products are expected to grow much from its 112 billion yen ($US 1 billion) for 2005.
