Corwood Laboratories Inc. has announced its $13 million investment in Symex manufacturing and processing technology. The investment is the latest in a chain of efforts by the company to expand its manufacturing and technical capabilities to customers.
Symex is a developer of processing equipment for the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. The addition of the Symex technology reportedly will give Corwood, a producer of cosmetic and personal care products and formulas, the ability to work more closely with its customers in product development from the early to the latter stages.
"The addition of our new state-of-the-art facilities and processes is resulting in increased formula integrity and process security. Our expansion includes the addition of the very latest computerized analytical and testing equipment, including Gas Chromatograph, H.P.L.C., F.T.I.R. and Spectrophotometer," said Vincent Penna, Corwood's vice president of sales and marketing.
In addition to the technology purchase, Corwood has also created a technical and marketing team from within the company to anticipate and advance its product development concepts.
