Colonial Chemical (South Pittsburg, Tenn., USA) highlights a new high molecular weight (HMW) betaine that according to the company is naturally derived from linoleic acid. ColaTeric DLB (INCI: Dilinoleylamidopropyl betaine) is a molecule that is said to combine the standard viscosity-building properties of traditional betaines when used with sulfates. The ingredient has the added the benefit of conditioning due to the presence of two linoleyl groups, says the company, and it is free-flowing, low in odor, low in color and oxidatively stable.
