Beiersdorf France (Savigny-le-Temple, France) has announced a plan to sell its production and logistics facilities. According to the company, the sale is intended to restore the competitiveness of Beiersdorf France and to reduce structural overcapacities while securing the jobs of employees.
The company reportedly is looking for an industrial investor who can continue to production and logistics of its personal care and cosmetics products. The Beiersdorf affiliate reported a €354 million in sales for 2005. The production and logistics facilities employs 267 of the affiliates 750 employees, all of which the company plans transfer to the new ownership.
The sale is part of Beiersdorf's Consumer Business Strategy, which intends to realign the company's consumer supply chain. Executives at the company's headquarters in Hamburg reportedly support the decision of its French affiliate to sell part of its business.
